Allahabad University MBA Entrance Exam: Question Paper Pattern, Seat Matrix, Previous year Cut-off, Placement & Course Details

The registration process for the Post Graduation Admission Test (PGAT) at the University of Allahabad has been successfully completed. The university has announced the dates for the entrance examinations, which will take place from July 1 to July 4. 

The Allahabad University MBA Entrance Exam features a question paper pattern comprising 150 questions divided into four sections: Communication Ability in English (40 questions, 80 marks), Aptitude and Reasoning (40 questions, 80 marks), General Awareness (40 questions, 80 marks), and Quantitative Aptitude (30 questions, 60 marks), totaling 300 marks. The seat matrix includes 58 seats each for MONIRBA and GBPSSI, subject to change as per Ministry of Education recommendations. Previous year cut-offs and placement records reflect a competitive landscape, with successful candidates often securing roles in diverse sectors. The MBA course offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with essential managerial skills.

  ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The admission to the MBA course shall be based on Admission Test comprising of PGAT and Oral

Tests (Group Discussion & Personal Interview). All tests shall be conducted only in English medium.

TEST (300 MARKS):

The PGAT tests shall judge applicants for proficiency in written communication, intelligence, propensity to observe facts and use them, propensity to grasp and use quantitative and scientific tools, general awareness, logical thinking, reasoning power, aptitude for management learning and practice, and maturity in terms of personality.

 Note: - Admission Test shall be held through Online Mode only at the centre allotted by the University on the Admit Card.

1. Communication Ability in English

   - Number of Questions: 40

   - Marks: 80

   - Details: This section assesses the candidate's proficiency in English. It includes questions on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, and usage. The aim is to evaluate the candidate's ability to understand and use the English language effectively.

2. Aptitude and Reasoning

   - Number of Questions: 40

   - Marks: 80

   - Details: This section tests the candidate's logical reasoning and analytical skills. Questions may cover topics such as verbal reasoning, logical sequences, analogies, syllogisms, pattern recognition, and problem-solving. The focus is on the candidate's ability to think critically and solve complex problems.

3. General Awareness

   - Number of Questions: 40

   - Marks: 80

   - Details: This section evaluates the candidate's awareness of current affairs and general knowledge. Questions can cover a wide range of topics including history, geography, politics, economy, science, sports, and important events. Staying updated with current events and having a good grasp of general knowledge is crucial for this section.

4. Quantitative Aptitude

   - Number of Questions: 30

   - Marks: 60

   - Details: This section measures the candidate's mathematical skills and numerical ability. Topics often include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data interpretation. Candidates are expected to solve problems involving percentages, ratios, averages, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, time and work, and other basic mathematical concepts.

The total exam consists of 150 questions, amounting to 300 marks, designed to comprehensively assess the candidate's abilities in key areas essential for success in an MBA program.

Number of candidates called for group discussion (GD) & personal interview (PI):

The number of candidates to be called for GD and PI Test shall be three times the number of Seats in the MONIRBA for MBA and GBPSSI for MBA-RD.

Group Discussion (50 Marks)

Group leadership test shall be done by grouping the applicants in viable groups and conducting

discussion on chosen themes to test the applicant’s leadership ability, group behaviour, and adjustment with group dynamic.

Personal Interview (50 Marks)

Personal Interview will be held for each candidate separately to test overall suitability of a candidate for doing M.B.A.

FINAL LIST OF SELECTED CANDIDATES:

The final list of selected candidates shall be drawn on the basis of the overall performance of the candidates in the PGAT, GD & PI Tests. Every candidate has to appear in PGAT and GD & PI Tests. Thus, a candidate, who is, for whatsoever reason, does not present himself in any of the above Test(s) shall not be considered for final admission. Final result shall be declared on the official website of University of Allahabad and displayed on the notice board of MONIRBA and GBPSSI.

If the score of two or more candidates is identical in overall Admission Test, the admission shall be granted on the following basis:

Score of PGAT.

Percentage of Marks scored in Graduate Examination, in case of score in PGAT is also identical,

 By drawing a lottery. If the marks in Graduate Examination are same.

A student after being declared successful must deposit their fees within stipulated time. If student do not collect their Intimation Card and deposit the fee by the required date, they will not be admitted for admission and the candidate next in merit will be given admission
