The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG 2024) from May 15 to 24. This time the exam will be held in hybrid mode, comprising both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen and Paper modes.

Exam Pattern
The CUET UG exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) conducted in a hybrid mode, offering flexibility to students in terms of choosing their preferred exam centers.
The exam will be divided into three sections:
Section 1: A Language test where candidates can choose from 13 Indian languages and a few foreign languages. Students will be required to attempt 40 out of 50 questions in the chosen language.
Section 2: Domain-specific Subjects – This section allows candidates to select up to six subjects relevant to their desired undergraduate program. Each subject will have 40-50 questions, and students need to attempt 35-40 questions.
Section 3: General Test – This section will be mandatory for all candidates and will assess general knowledge, numerical ability, logical reasoning, and analytical skills. It will comprise 50 questions, of which students need to attempt 40.
No normalisation of scores for CUET-UG, NET this year: UGC Chief
Normalisation of scores for the Common University Entrance Test-UG and the National Eligibility Test is being done away with from this year, according to UGC chief Jagadesh Kumar.

"No normalisation of scores will be required this year since both exams will be conducted in a single shift for a subject," Mr Kumar told PTI.
Marking Scheme of the CUET UG
For Multiple Choice Questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it will be addressed in the following manner:
-For each correct answer, 5 marks shall be awarded.
For each wrong answer, (-1) will be deducted.
Unanswered/Marked for Review questions will be given no mark (0).
If more than one option is found to be correct then (+5) marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
If all options are found to be correct then (+5) marks will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given (+5) marks.

The CUET-UG will be conducted from May 15 to 24 this time. In a shift from the earlier pattern of conducting the crucial exam for admission to undergraduate courses in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, CUET-UG for 15 subjects will be conducted in pen and paper mode while for 48 subjects in online mode.
