Call for Contributions: NLU Ranchi Invites Chapters for Edited Volumes Exploring Contemporary Criminal Laws - Submission Deadline July 01
About Organisation
The National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, is a National Law University established by the Jharkhand Government vide the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi Act 2010. The Chief Justice of the High Court of Jharkhand, Hon’ble Justice S Chandrashekhar, is the Chancellor.
Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is the visitor and His Excellency C. P. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, is the rector of NUSRL, Ranchi. Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R Patil is the Vice-chancellor of NUSRL.
About The Opportunity
In the background of the complex social needs in India, thoughtful discourse on the newly enacted laws can aid public understanding. We aim to critically analyze the rationale, provisions, implementation, and effects of these statutes. Potential topics may include but are not limited to, the statute’s constitutionality, impact on the public, police and judiciary, investigation, relevancy, and admissibility of evidence, recent developments, etc. Further, to promote research in the field of Law and keep in line with the recent developments in the areas of criminal laws, it has become necessary to understand the nuances of the recently enacted laws. We, therefore, propose to come out with three volumes:

Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023: Contemporary Issues & Challenges
Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023: Contemporary Issues & Challenges
Papers relating to the subject of each volume shall be published in the relevant volume.
We request Professors, Judges, Advocates, and Research Scholars to participate in our initiative and to contribute a chapter for the edited volumes on New Criminal Laws.
The book will be published by NUSRL, Ranchi with an ISBN number. The copyright belongs to the publisher.
Eligibility
- Edited volumes will encompass articles spanning 4000 to 8000 words, delving into recent developments in criminal laws.
- Contributions are sought from students, practitioners, and experts, fostering diverse insights and analyses.
- The endeavor aims at significant academic exploration of various dimensions and implications within the field.

Below are the key deadlines for this Call for Chapters:
1st July 2024: Last date for submission of abstracts.
15th July 2024: Intimation of acceptance of abstracts and expectation for final submissions.
1st September 2024: Final submission deadline for chapters.

Submission Procedure
Please send abstracts of up to 500 words and a short bio by 1st July 2024 to ccl@nusrlranchi.ac.in. Selected contributors will be notified by 15th July 2024. Complete chapters of 4000-8000 words shall be submitted by 1st September 2024. Separate entries shall be made for separate volumes.
