The efforts to implement National Education Policy-2020 (NEP) at the undergraduate level in Allahabad University have intensified. Vice Chancellor Prof. On the instructions of Sangeeta Srivastava, Registrar Prof. NK Shukla has appointed Dr. Simant Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, as the nodal officer. The Registrar has issued a notification in this regard. Along with this, the Higher Education Department has also sought information related to NEP implementation from the university. University of Allahabad has already implemented NEP. Many five-year integrated courses have been started in the first phase.
New Five-Year Integrated Programs
Allahabad University is launching several innovative five-year integrated programs as part of its NEP 2020 implementation, including:
Environmental Studies and Disaster Management
B.Sc. M.Sc. in Family and Community Science
BCA-MCA in Data Science
BBA-MBA
Four-Year Undergraduate Curriculum
In the second phase, preparations to implement the National Education Policy in graduate level BA, B.Sc and B.Com have intensified. Already, new education policy based four-year curriculum for BA, B.Sc and B.Com has been prepared.
The transition involves restructuring the curriculum to include multiple entry and exit points, allowing students to earn certificates, diplomas, or degrees depending on their duration of study. Additionally, the university aims to incorporate a broader range of subjects, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to education. OFFICE ORDER
With the direction of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr Simant Kumar Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad is hereby nominated as Nodal Officer for providing information regarding implementation of various aspects of NEP-2020 (as sought by Department of Higher Education in the online Google form) in addition to his own duties with immediate effect.
