CUET UG 2024 Exam: Big decision of National Testing Agency! Examination of 13 subjects will be conducted offline in CUET UG

In CUET 2024, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination of 13 subjects will be held in pen-paper mode for the first time. NTA has started preparations for this. National Testing Agency (NTA) on the instructions of UGC will conduct the examination of 13 subjects in Combined University Entrance Examination-Undergraduate (CUET-UG)-2024 in offline mode with more than one lakh applications. These 13 subjects include Economics/Business Economics, Accountancy/Book Keeping, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, General Test, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physics and Political Science. Whereas the examination of subjects with less than one lakh applications will be taken online.

A total of 13 lakh 47 thousand students have registered for CUET UG 2024. NTA has received a total of 13,47,618 unique successful registrations in 62 subjects in CUET UG 2024. Of these, 7 lakh 17 thousand 11 are boys and 6 lakh 30 thousand 500 are girls. Apart from this, there are also seven transgenders. A total of 57 lakh 69 thousand 211 students had filled the online application.

This time, admission will be available in more than 200 universities of the country through CUET UG entrance examination. UGC Chairman M Jagadish Kumar has said that so far 46 Central Universities, 32 State Universities, 20 Deemed-to-be Universities have registered for CUET UG. 96 private universities and 6. government institutions have also registered for CUET UG to offer admission in UG courses. Admission in UG courses of more than 200 universities of the country including DU, BHU, Allahabad University, Jamia will be done through this entrance examination.

CUET UG city slip with exam date and venue will be released from April 30, and admit cards will be released in the second week of May 2024.

It is noteworthy that the last date to apply for CUET UG has ended on 5th April. Earlier the last date was March 31, but on the request of the students, UGC had extended this date till April 5. The last date for making corrections was extended from April 7 to April 8. UGC had expressed the possibility of more applications for CUET UG this year than last year.

Till now 246 universities have joined CUET. These include 46 central universities, 20 deemed universities and 105 private universities. Let us tell you, the dates of CUET-UG entrance examination have not been announced yet by UGC. It is likely to be announced between May 25 and 31. These dates are expected to be announced by UGC by the end of this month.

ABVP National General Secretary, Shri Yagywalkya Shukla, stated, "The decision to hold offline exams for subjects with over one lakh applications will greatly facilitate students. ABVP extends its best wishes to all CUET-UG candidates for their success in the exams and demands NTA to consider all aspects of all the stakeholders' interest to facilitate students in its decision-making for the arrangements of the examinations."

More than 13 lakh students registered

Examination of other subjects will be online as before. A total of 13 lakh 47 thousand students have registered for CUIT UG 2024. NTA has received a total of 13,47,618 unique successful registrations in 62 subjects in CUE UG 2024. Of these, 7,17,11 are boys and 6,30,500 are girls. 

Apart from this, there are also seven transgenders. A total of 57 lakh 69 thousand 211 students had filled the online application. Every candidate had to register in six subjects, hence this number appears high.

This examination is to be held from 15 to 31 May. Along with taking the decision on pen-paper based examination, NTA will also release the datesheet soon.
